This is a live vaccination not included in the UK childhood vaccination programme but has been available for over 20 years.

Indications
Children over 9 months and adults who have not had Chicken Pox.

Things to know
Cannot be given if you have a fever, have had spleen removed, are pregnant or are undergoing treatment with drugs that reduce immunity. Cannot be given within 4 weeks of other live vaccines e.g. MMR or Yellow Fever vaccines.

Dosing Schedule
2 doses given, 6-8 weeks apart.

£100 per dose.
