Today I had my ear's syringed by the nurse who did a great job now my hearing is perfect.

The receptionist was very helpful changing my appointment time and informed me about the free parking on site. Also it’s the cheapest ear syringing in Leeds.

What a find! Absolutely amazing is how I'd describe the care received from the nurse, had my ears syringed and, within 30 minutes I was back in the car pain free after having a couple of bad day & nights with ear pain. Very reasonable cost and free parking underneath for patients, highly recommended.

Ear irrigation is a painless routine procedure for removing earwax. Ear irrigation (syringing) is carried out by using an electronic irrigator. The tip of the irrigator is inserted into the entrance of the ear and a warm flow of water enters helping to flush out the wax. This procedure works best when earwax is soft so it is important to follow any advice given prior to your appointment. *Prices starting from £25 depending on location

A blue arrow head pointing downwards

Before attending your appointment 2-3 drops of Olive Oil must be applied to one or both ears if required at least three to four times daily for at least 5-7 days to help soften and loosen the wax prior to irrigation. The best way to apply this is by resting the side of your head on a pillow inserting the drops and lay for a few minutes so the Olive Oil penetrates the hardened wax. Wipe any excess oil away with a tissue and refrain from using cotton wool as this will soak the oil up. Repeat on the other side should both ears require irrigation. Olive Oil can be obtained over the counter from your local pharmacy. If you require more information then please do not hesitate to contact our Nurse prior to your appointment.

A blue arrow head pointing downwards

In most cases you do not need earwax removal before a hearing test. It is normal to have a small amount of earwax in your ears, this is perfectly healthy and will not effect the outcome of a hearing test. If you think you are susceptible to developing a large build up of wax in your ears it may be worth asking your nurse of GP to examine them before your ear test.
